Yes, there are such thing like real creationist scientist

Some days ago, I started to search on the internet on the thesis of the creation of the Scrablands, near  Washington.
After much exploring the theme, I was lead to some "theories" that (atheist) critics say they are rubbish.

But one of these brought my attention because of its elegance and robustness: the hydroplate theory.
I´ve read the book (or most of it) on line and it was really surprising. See here.

Yes, there are critics, but I have found this article very reasonable.

The hydroplate theory of the Global Flood, first proposed by Walt Brown, PhD, in 1995 and refined considerably since then, is far more robust than one might appreciate merely by reading link summaries on Internet searches on the phrase. Most of the criticisms of it turn out to be classic exercises in circular reasoning.

The most respectable of Brown's critics is Dr. Glenn R. Morton, a physicist who clearly accepts the uniformitarian view of geology (that all processes observed today have always operated, at the same rates, since the earth began). This view colors his thinking, and clouds his judgment.

First, Morton assumes that Brown's theory requires the earth's surface to be "perfectly smooth." This he concludes after calculating that mountains, mentioned by Shem, Ham, and Japheth (Genesis 7), would overstress the ten-kilometer crust that initially covered the pre-Flood subcrustal ocean, according to Brown's central assumption. But the Bible never says how high the highest mountains were before the Flood, so that assuming that any of them were as high as are typical mountains today assumes a fact not in evidence--especially since Brown holds that the crashing of the "hydroplates" created after the initial event created the modern mountains. More to the point: to go from not being able to support mountains as high as modern mountains, to having to be "perfectly smooth," is a frankly silly exaggeration. (Morton never says how "perfect" the "smoothness" needs to be, so that one may reasonably assume that Morton is suggesting that the earth's surface needed to be a toolmaker's flat!)

Next he assumes that the crust covering the subcrustal waters would collapse very early, in geological terms. He is probably assuming the same great ages that most uniformitarians do, forgetting that 1,656 years passed between Creation and the Flood. He stated that the model requires pillars to support the crust; in fact, Brown's model does feature pillars, though this could have been a refinement added after Morton's 2003 critique. More to the point: the recent demonstration of a subcrustal ocean on Enceladus, a moon of Saturn, and the (quite reasonable) inference of a subcrustal ocean on Europa (and probably also on Ganymede, whose crust is even thicker and heavier), strongly suggests that a subcrustal ocean is not the outlandish device that Morton and others seem to believe. (Note: the surfaces of Europa and Enceladus are not toolmaker's flats, by any stretch.)

Morton's worst error is to assume that the water would be too hot, and would remain hot as it escaped from the initial rupture. The water would indeed be hot--and in fact, supercritical on account of the tremendous pressure. But it would not remain hot as it escaped. According to Brown's model, the water rushed nearly straight up and all the way through the atmosphere, and there lost its heat and fell as freezing rain and even hail. Nor did this rain fall all at once; Shem, Ham and Japheth clearly testify that the rain fell "for forty days and forty nights."

The common thread in all the errors that Morton makes is circular reasoning--as if Morton says to Brown, "Your theory does not work under my theory, so your theory must be wrong." Albert Einstein's critics no doubt made the same mistake.

New Theme

As you can see, this blog is not dead, at least yet...
I have changed the theme. After more than 4 years with the same look, I decided it was time to "change"...
Just to notice, I took some of the themes offered by blogger and added a new logo.
The logo was created using a photo I have taken here at the mouth of Douro River last winter. It was a very windy day and the waves hit hard against the rocks and the lighthouse. I thought it was perfect for "swimming".
But it is not the only "news": I decided to reactivate some old projects, like "colligated blogs".
So, wait for new content. Here and there.... "and everywhere"...

Brazillian philosopher Olavo de Carvalho denounces plot against Alejandro Peña Esclusa. 


A friend of mine, Alejandro Peña Esclusa, one of the leaders of the 
Venezuelan opposition and founder of the UnoAmerica movement, was arrested 
yesterday, July 12th., by the political police of Hugo Chávez. 
He was arrested upon ridiculous, false, and absurd charges, entirely 
manifactured by Chavez's police and founded upon some testimony given by a 
supposed Salvadoran terrorist, Francisco Chávez Abarca, who would have denounced 
Peña Esclusa as his "contact" in Venezuela. The fact of the matter, 
however, is that Chávez Abarca, as soon as he arrived in Caracas last week, was 
interrogated and then sent to Cuba, where no independent investigator can 
contact him to verify whether his testimony really exists and whether it is 
true. The Venezuelan government says that Chávez Abarca is the right-hand 
of Luís Posada Carriles, who, in his turn, was accused of having exploded a 
plane of the Cuban Airlines. So far, however, the most compromising piece 
of information that has been found against Chávez Abarca is that he was 
arrested for car theft and smuggling. The justice system of El Salvador set him 
free in 2007. 
If there is no evidence that Chávez Abarca is a terrorist, much less is 
there any proof against Alejandro Peña. The Venezuelan police said they found 
explosives in his apartment, which is laughable, to say the least. Peña, 
who has never shown any sign of mental unbalance, would have to be 
completely insane to plot bomb attacks against a government which he has filed suit 
against in the International Court of Justice (see

Nobody knows where Alejandro Peña is, nor what his health condition is 
after some hours of fondling by the hands of Hugo Chávez's political police, 
widely known by their matchless tenderness. 
The Geneva Conventions guarantee to every prisoner the right to be visited 
by a minister belonging to the prisoner's religious denomination, or by 
members of the Red Cross. I appeal to the Catholic Church in Venezuela to 
send a priest to meet with Peña Esclusa in prison immediately, in order to 
ensure that the excess of humanitarianism of the Chávez government will not 
lead the prisoner to death from emotional exhaustion or from unknown or 
unthinkable causes. 

The goal of the farce set up against Peña is to create an appearance of 
connection between him and "violent right-wing organizations," which, in the 
current Latin American scene, stand out especially because of their 
spectacular non-existence.

Alejandro Peña is known by both the American and Brazilian public as a 
serious and well-balanced public speaker, who describes the political 
situation of his country with sadness, but with serenity and without the least sign 
of hatred. Because of Peña Esclusa's democratic militancy, the Alabama 
state legislature has recently taken up a resolution commending his actions 
(see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGhwsRbR 0Y8) ). I here appeal to the congressmen of that valorous state 
and to American opinion-makers to send notes of protest to the Venezuelan 
government against this one more proof of Hugo Chávez's utter contempt for 
the fundamental rights of his political opponents.

The Assassination of Poland President Kaczinsky

I have received some complaints from some guys calling me a "nuts" like the ones that believed that 9-11 was an inside job.

There´s a huge difference between believing US was a Dictatorship at the time of President Bush that manipulated the media to go to War in Iraq and believe that Russia still is the real enemy: facts, not fiction.

a) Believe that every time US has a Republican President it became, automatically a "Fascist" regime is propaganda the kind moveon.org or other lunatics.
b) On the other hand, to believe that Russia is a democrat "friend" of US requires the same amount of naivité. If you believe in the first, you believe the latter. Russia is whitewash while the real enemies, like Russia, China, Iran are downplayed.

There are facts that prove that Russia still wants to keep its influence over the former communist states.
The chaos erupted in Ukraine congress because of the current government ,that is allied of Russia (is a puppet government, in fact), gave the Russia the right to use the Ukrainian ports for more decades on...

The fact was that Poland is a real ally of US. Of course, it was during the Bush years, not now that the "chosen" NeObama is the leader.

The world continues to discuss the Second Katyn Massacre, in which the Kremlin is suspected.

An American journalist, Jane Burgermeister, created a special blog in which she traces another bloody Russian crime against the Poles. She writes:



"The commanders lost in the air tragedy, according to Polish military officials and US diplomats who worked with them, may be irreplaceable for years. That is a blow not just for Poland, but also the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the US. The men were the first complete generation of top Polish commanders to have been educated in Western-mainly US-military colleges, and to have learned from operations alongside US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.



Asked if there was a new crop of similarly experienced and motivated officers ready to succeed those who died, Deputy Defense Minister Marcin Idzik said: "We lost our best soldiers. Poland's armed forces are ready, but it will be a different armed forces."



Mr. Idzik said that because the invitations were sent directly to the commanders by the president's chancellery, the flight didn't trigger procedural requirements that would have required Chief of the General Staff Franciszek (Frank) Gagor, who was also on the flight, to approve each person on it.



"It wasn't a military flight," says Mr. Idzik. Had it been, "In my opinion this situation would not have happened," he said.



In 2008, Poland's Air Force commander and his deputy died when their plane crashed inside Poland. The accident prompted new procedures under which no force commander is allowed to travel together with his deputy and any military flight with more than 10 personnel on board must be approved by the chief of the general staff. The rules don't apply to civilian flights.



The Ministry of Defense listed 13 military personnel in addition to the crew. The first task of Poland's acting president gave his newly appointed national security chief earlier this week, was to review the rules regarding military personnel traveling together.



Several of the generals who died were in their 40s or early 50s, and had been promoted above more-senior officers rooted in Soviet-era traditions. The group wanted to create a modern fighting force in the US mold, with the goal-already partly achieved-of becoming one of NATO's most active and relied-upon forces, military officials and diplomats say. The men saw Iraq and Afghanistan as the crucibles in which to rebuild Poland's military.



"Some 40% of Poland's armed services have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. They saw these as opportunities to create a high-level professional force," said US Ambassador to Poland Lee Feinstein, who knew all of the commanders.



Mr. Kaczynski was a fierce proponent of Poland's ties to NATO and the US, one of the reasons that his relationship with Moscow had been so difficult.



Gen. Gagor was a leading candidate to be the next chairman of NATO's military committee, the military counterpart of the alliance's secretary-general, according to US diplomats.



Operations Commander Lt. Gen. Bronislaw Kwiatkowski, who was due to retire on May 5, had served two years in Iraq, commanding the Polish sector, training Iraqi soldiers and advising the Iraqi defense ministry.



Charismatic army chief Maj. Gen. Tadeusz Buk had commanded Polish forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was given to bear hugs and blunt talk in heavily accented English. At a dinner after visiting a joint training program for US soldiers embedding with Polish troops in Afghanistan, Gen. Buk ended his speech "Thank you, America! Thank you, America! Thank you, America!" according to people who were present".

I´ve found some more clues on the assassination of the Poland President Lech Kaczynski by the FSB (Ex-KGB).

According to the Romanian news site :

The Romanian Global News was the only outlet of the Rumanian media which reported about the attack of international terrorists from the FSB Russia against the plane of the Polish President in Smolensk, in which the whole Polish elite had been exterminated. The Rumanian agency cites its sources in the security structures of the NATO. The report has not been officially confirmed yet, but increasing evidence testifies that the Russians really eliminated the leadership of Poland in the most brutal crime of this century.

The opportunity was unique for Russia. Russia never had so many enemies seated in one plane over its territory or near a military base equipped with electronic and electromagnetic weapons systems. It was an opportunity that former KGB agent Vladimir Putin could not miss.

To murder enemies was the ABC of philosophy for security services in the Czarist Russia, which remains intact until now. For the FSB, GRU, SVR and for all other Russian secret services it was just a routine operation, which they call in technical terms "the annihilation of anti-Russian political and military leaders of an enemy country."

On April 10, the first "Israeli" TV channel as well as the second one mentioned a possible involvement of Putin in the death of the Polish president.

Next day, on April 11, doubts were expressed in the print media.

"The Poles can hardly believe that all political and military leadership disappeared as a result of an accident caused by a tragic set of circumstances, technical defects and a human factor", writes the Yediot Ahronot newspaper.

The Ha'aretz newspaper adds:" In the first hours after the accident, a possibility of a Russian involvement prevailed in the Polish media because of tense relations between Kaczynski and Putin.

The Maariv went further and titled its article "A smell of liquidation".

"Moscow has promised to investigate, Putin became the head of the investigation committee, but it is unlikely that the truth would be ever revealed,", the article says.

The NRG Web site says that "the accusation in a targeted Kremlin-style assassination will accompany the story in the coming year"

A leading political analyst, Attila Somfalvi wrote in the "Facebook" that "the Russians are now the main suspects".

On April 12, the newspaper Ha'aretz noted that Russian solidarity with Poland in the Smolensk tragedy is only meant to deceive the world.

Caro LA,

Evidentemente que existe algo de estranho no ar. Difícil perceber até se o que temos em torno é fumaça ou neblina. Se for fumaça, há fogo, há problema efetivo. Mas também, o que muitas vezes se aparenta com aspectos de fumaça, pode ser uma forte neblina natural, mesmo com fortes indícios iniciais em contrário. O caso merece toda a suspeição e atenção profunda e abrangente. Entretanto, creio que ainda é por demais cedo para se afirmar conclusões definitivas sobre a questão.

Sugestão: altere o título do post.

Conforme eu havia suspeitado (aqui, do meu blog em inglês); Confome J. R. Nyquist havia desconfiado também, fica cada vez mais claro que o presidente Lech Kaczynki e toda cúpula do governo polonês foram assassinados em um atentado perpetrado pela FSB (ex-KGB).

Eu havia dito que era muito útil ao governo russo que um governo claramente anti-comunista (que já havia rompido com Lech Walesa por descobrir as estranhas relações deste com o Partido Comunista -- leia Golytsin, por favor -- ), conservador (ou seja, contra casamento gay e toda a política cor-de-rosa de nossos tempos, além de católico), cético das decisões da União Européia (aborto, etc..), desaparecesse do mapa político da Europa.
De uma só vez a sua morte facilita a que todas estas outras frentes de ataque possam agir livremente.
No caso da Rússia, dá condições de uma "segunda invasão" russa, colocando lá um governo pró-Rússia.

Pois agora, a versão divulgada pelo governo russo, de que o piloto insistiu em aterrissar, mesmo sob condições adversas, está sendo contestada. O Estadão, jornal brasileiro reproduz esta versão:

Segundo a investigação preliminar, não houve falha técnica no avião. As conversas registradas pelas caixas-pretas indicariam ainda que o piloto teria tomado decisões equivocadas na aproximação da aeronave da pista militar de Smolensk.

President Obama has ended production of the F-22, the most advanced fighter jet this country has ever built. He’s gutted our missile defense program by eliminating shield resources in strategic places including Alaska. And he’s ended the program to build a new generation of nuclear weapons that would have ensured the reliability of our nuclear deterrent well into the future. All this is in the context of the country’s unsustainable debt that could further limit defense spending. As one defense expert recently explained:

The president is looking to eliminate the last vestiges of the Reagan-era buildup. Once the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are “ended” (not “won”), the arms control treaties signed, and defense budgets held at historic lows while social entitlements and debt service rise to near-European levels, the era of American superpower will have passed.

The truth is this: by his actions we see a president who seems to be much more comfortable with an American military that isn’t quite so dominant and who feels the need to apologize for America when he travels overseas. Could it be a lack of faith in American exceptionalism? The fact is that America and our allies are safer when we are a dominant military superpower – whether President Obama likes it or not.
