North Corea doesn't allowed us to forget what "socialism" means

Blog Free Thoughts has upsetting images of how low a socialism regime could fall : "Physical Abuse of a Woman by the North Korean Military - Pictures taken on August 17, at a border military station"

That's the real socialism. The way defined as "social-democracy" is just a slower lane to reach the same spot: total control over the human being by a giant state.
This is what happens when the disguise of "egalitarianism" is left behind.

north corea is no more "socialist" than USA is "democratic". you could find the same pictures with WASP beating Hobo or black people, if you dare look.

Are you trying to minimize such acts just because they are commited in countries that are suposed to be against the US? It is so selfish, snob and stupid!

violence is in use everywhere and it's just as horrible no matter the country...i am from Romania, former comunist country, but what is happening now in North Coreea is a totally different thing... there was abuse for us too but not to that extent... starving an entire country and investing in nukes...we mights just as well blow the planet away now...

I agree with remi. Although North Korea often calls itself a socialist regime, it is almost anything but, especially considering its current economic policies. In fact many "socialist" regimes in the past have merely used the name socialism to justify the near abolition of individual and human rights. Clearly what is happening in Korea is a severe injustice, however, to connect the practices of an oppressive, totalitarian-esque regime to the doctrines of socialism is unfounded.
