An Inconvenient Truth: Global Warming is Real and Melting the Glaciers...On Mars!

Thanks to "Ace of Spades HQ" I came across this interesting news.

"Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake. Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over"

Source: ace.mu.nu

This was published on Sunday Times under the head "Climate Change Hits Mars".
What could be causing such climate change?
Martians?
Capitalism?
US?
George W Bush?
Putting the irony aside, this is the real Incovenient Truth: Global warming is a natural phenomena!
I found an article that says we have to blame global warming solely on the sun.
"Those looking for the culprit
responsible for global warming have missed the obvious choice
- the sun. While it may come as a newsflash to some, scientific
evidence conclusively shows that the sun plays a far more important
role in causing global warming and global cooling than any other
factor, natural or man-made. In fact, what may very well be the
ultimate ironic twist in the global warming controversy is that
the same solar forces that caused 150 years of warming are on
the verge of producing a prolonged period of cooling."

Expressionism Tribute - "Cabinet of Doctor Caligari"

This 1919 silent movie was the first "expressionist" film. This masterpiece written and directed by Robert Wiene could be the first horror movie ever produced.
The symbols of this film were very strong.
This film inaugurated the 20th century`s moviemaking fashion.
These characters had been recycled over and over. Note that "Cesare", the sonambulist character was the model for Tim Burton´s (an expressionism addicted) "Edward Scissorhands".
The story was a prophecy of what was about to happen in Germany. In a small village a stranger "Doctor" (Caligari) control people´s mind through hypnotism. Crimes were committed, madness & reality in a nightmarish landscape. In fact it seems that all the movie is located inside a madman`s brain.. That´s 20th century.
Enjoy!

Deliberate Dumbing Down of America (and Latin America too): "Another Brick in the Wall"

Now is available for free an important book that reveals how schools are becoming a plant for creating morons. Not only in US but in Latin America too.
It reminds me that old Pink Floyd song and movie called "Another Brick in the Wall" where schools are shown as meat-pastry producers.

Here´s the introdcution:

Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt, former Senior Policy Advisor in the U.S. Department of Education, blew the whistle in the `80s on government activities withheld from the public. Her inside knowledge will help you protect your children from controversial methods and programs. In this book you will discover:

  • how good teachers across America have been forced to use controversial, non-academic
  • how "school choice" is being used to further dangerous reform goals, and how home schooling and private education are especially vulnerable.

  • how workforce training (school-to-work) is an essential part of an overall plan for a global economy, and how this plan will shortcircuit your child's future career plans and opportunities.
  • how the international, national, regional, state and local agendas for education reform are all interconnected and have been for decades.

Political Correctness is the "Sharia" of the Laicism State!

Does anybody has realize the likeliness of the Political Correctness and Sharia?

Sharia is the "law" applied automatically wherever there´s a Radical Islamic State. There are even western like Arabian countries that obey strictly the Sharia.

In these countries:

  • Alcohol beverages are proihibited
  • Music is not allowed
  • Women must cover their faces and bodies

The political correctness, for its turn are making huge progress in the same direction

  • Smoke is prohibited in public places in almost all countries of Europe, US and Latin America
  • Fat: people fat or restaurants that sell fat meals (specially if they have a clown as a pet) are being targeted by low-fat radicals
  • Crucifixes and other symbols of christianity like Easter, Christmas are being , or banned or turned into something other than its original meaning

Both Sharia and Polictical Correctness are pursuing the same goals: to impede people to do the "wrong" things or "christian" things, at least. Their perpetrators do not believe in freedom. Freedom to do wrong, to fail is freedom that must be allowed too. It´s with our errors that we can pursue the good.

But they demand that everybody must do the right, or what they think it´s right in a automated way.

Both are wrong and both seems to me symptons of a religious radicalism. There were in the ancient times many religions that were totalitarian in their views and actions. They were called "pagan" religions because the people must act exactly as they demand.

I can´t see nothing different right now. Just one small difference. The Political Correctness, wiht its goal to turns any government into a kind of a "new" laicism state - seems to be the "icebreaker" (preparation) for a subsequent painless "Sharia" deployment.

Punk, a paleo-neo-conservative movement?

In the eighties I discovered New Wave music. It was like a mass to me. I used to be a "discothèque" addicted in the seventies so I missed the initial punk offspring. I used to think they were a bunch of "punks" making misunderstandable noises, not music. But in the eighties, moved by the "wave" I finnally realized what they really meant.

It was a musical breaktrough for me. A "revolutionary" way to make music. "Forget Eagles, Rod Stewart and all that dirty hippies". The motto "make your own music" really excited me.

Much later, I had another glimpse that punk was not a revolutionary movement, but instead, "reactionary". Watching some documentaries related to the first punk generation (Pistols, Clash, Damned) I could to know the environment that created such movement. England in the seventies was almost finishing. Labour Party was ruling for a long time around 1976. They implemented welfare programs, nationalisation that drove the whole country to the crash: unemployment rates were incredibly high - specially for young people, strikes were spread in almost all public services (there were no even mortuary services to the dead the people thought that they must had to throw corpses into the sea or Thames).

Punk emerged to react against the uniformization, egality, and welfare. They were individualists that claimed that anyone could have a band, they could be whatever they want, that each individual must decide what is the best for him, not the government.

It´s surprising that just after the punk efervescent years, British people chose for conservatism, electing the "Iron Lady" (a punk in their own terms, I must note) Margareth Thatcher. But I always felt that it was an odd thought, hence majority of the punk´s band supported left initiatives. It was for me totally insane that the same people that used to scream against big government and supportes individualism went under the left, that is pro big government and against free-choice.

But this site , called "Conservative Punk", makes me wonder that, finally, my first thought was right after all: The left kidnapped the movement, and the punks led them do it. Here´s the official goals of this initiative:

[q url="http://www.conservativepunk.com/about.asp"]

# To try and inform the young voters of today that identify themselves with the punk scene with the facts, rather than rumor and conspiracy theory.

# To stretch their political minds by exposing other political ideas outside the usual bi-partisan arena and making them think about what else may be out there (aside from what is heard, read and seen in various forms of media).

# To provide a forum for nearly all walks of the political spectrum in that their voices, concerns and questions may be presented and subsequently addressed.

# To encourage today’s younger, burgeoning generation to register to vote and become engaged in politics.

# To encourage the young voters to draw their own conclusions rather than indoctrinate them to a certain way of thinking (i.e. not buying in to being so close-minded that all your problems are blamed on a single politician or candidate, not becoming a mindless coalition of lost hope based on what others try to jam into your head, etc).

# To try and bring to light societal issues which are of concern and have consequences to an entire nation, not an individual.

# To try and nurture the importance of individuality, personal liberties, freedom and civil rights all the while maintaining the importance of teamwork.

# To try and foil myths surrounding the United States military and the freedoms it protects.

# To focus on the future of this nation rather than lag behind and wallow in pity when things don’t go your way.[/q]

Other intereseting links: The historical and cosmovision between two movements and their two leaders in America: Johnny Ramone and Ronald Reagan; Punk Rock and Conservatism

By the way, many punk songs were really conservative. "God Save the Queen" is an anthem against government and welfare (in its own terms) and "Bodies" is a song against abortion!

Never mind the bollocks:; Here`s the Sex Pistols!

Virginia Tech Massacre: Symptons of "Nietzsche Syndrome" - The existencial Murderer?

While all people are discussing allowed guns, ban guns and other things related to guns as if they have the power to induce people to kill each other related to Virgina Tech Massacre (I forgot to mention the third world analysis that blame on US capitalism for the crimes, but that´s a stupidity - they pretend that if communism had killed more than 100M people, capitalism must be the force behind US killers), they forget to scrutinize the very perpetrador and his behavior.

I´ve read in the past the story of two boys influenced by the reading of Nietzsce (and a mental pathology, of course) that commited several murders without guilt.

So I dig around the net and find this article/book that define what they call "Nietzsche Syndrome" pattern in some murderers. This is seem to be the case in the Virgini Tech Massacre.

Read on.

To escape the cognitive mode of experience, to transcend the accident of one's moment of being.... One mustn't underestimate the primal appeal — to lose oneself, lose it utterly. And in losing it be born to the principle of continuous life, outside the prison of mortality and time."

To achieve this, they used alcohol, drugs, and even poison. The point was "to receive the god" via purification of the self. They tried and tried, and eventually managed to achieve an ecstatic, hallucinogenic state they had apparently lost their egos. They began to run through the woods and fields, oblivious to anything. Somehow, they killed a man along the way. When they came to their senses beside the body, which was ripped apart, they realized they had done it but had no memory of how. In other words, in their reach to defy human limits and unify with a deity, they became violent. Like God, they had taken a person's life.

In many ways, that is similar to the way some killers justify their actions with Nietzsche's call to "live dangerously" and develop a will to power. To be God is to be mighty, and that's often interpreted as the ability to kill another person — as if that's the ultimate exercise of power.

Aznar y Peña Esclusa en Porto Alegre, Brazil

Fuerza Siolidaria has published an article praising the Liberty Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil. City that I used to lived.
Liberty forum is the only one forum that supports classic liberalism and some kind of conservatives. When lived in Brazil philosopher Olavo de Carvalho was an habitué on the events of the forum.
But something is wrong.
Besides Aznar and Esclusa, we will have Fernando Henrique Cardoso - a social democrat that his party PSDB is always in the same political spectrum of Lula da Silva´s PT.
Frei Betto, one of the supporters of PT is another conferencist.
Miguel Rosseto, former participant of some PT government, on state and national levels is another conferencist that is causing odd reactions among the regular attendants of the Forum.
Frei Betto and Miguel Rosseto are persons more adequate to a World Social Forum (at the same Porto Alegre) beside of French agitator José Bové than to join the same pulpit with Esclusa and Aznar..

What we can wait for?
Let´s see it, but my friends in Porto Alegre are a little disappointed with this guest list crowded of PT components.

Castro, a Spain Protegé

This article from Armando Valladares shows how socialist government from Felipe Gonzalez in Spain, has helped to hide all Cuba´s Human Rights violations before the UN Human Rights Commitee by declaring officially that "
("Spain has no evidence that there is a Human Rights problem in Cuba") while produced TOP SECRET reports - assuring all the atrocities - that never were published.

It was twenty years from now, but it seems that even a new socialist government is always Castro´s friendly as the old. If Zapatero had been ETA´s friendly for months (months?) why not Cuban? The history seemed to be repeated...

Democracy in Argentina is sinking too.. Thanks to .. "the isolated facts"

"Without an organized opposition Argentinian Democracy is rotting", says French intellectual Guy Sorman.

But, of course, the fact that democracy in Latin America is sinking is just an "isolated facts" due to the fact that communism, socialism, totalitarism are dead in the rest of the world.

Is just me and a bunch of lunatics that used to "connect the dots".

Read the original text in spanish.

"Drought Law" in Venezuela: The History repeat itself as a joke?

A friend of mine sent me this article from Noel Valderrama from Venezuelan newspaper "El Tiempo". Valderrama is skeptical towards the new regulamentation from the "Bolivarian" Republic of Venezuela (or to be quick - "Fidelito") to avoid car crashes during the Holy Week: to prohibit the sales and consuptiom of Alcohol in Venezuela...

Valderrama stated:

Yes, to solve a problem the solution is to ban all possibilities that it could succeed. If the government woul try to prohibit the "causes" to avoid the consequences, it must prohibit people to have children...

Ok, many will use this opinion to criticize my position anti-drug liberation (marijuana, cocaine /&/amp; others). They will blame that alcohol is deadlier than all of these.
But there`s is an enormous difference between alcohol and other drugs.
Let me point out.

1) Alcohol is something that is embedded through the culture and history: All cultures use alcohol. The maluse of it has been warned since the first times, so there´s a "social" acceptance of the use of alcohol, but it is not an acceptance of becoming drunk. That´s the real difference. A drunk person is a person that is avoided by all other persons. Finally: culture could induce to the use of alcohol? Yes, but this very society blame the ones that could not handle it. In Brazil were I lived, it was common to give children a cup of wine with sugar and water, as a grape juice (due for the italian immigration on the area).. I took it several times when I was a kid. I have no problems with drinking..
2) Prohibited drugs don´t allow you the control of the situation: when you use non-licit drugs you are not allowed to keep control over yourself. Even marijuana. That´s tottally differente from alcohol. Using prohibited drugs is like getting drunk everytime you drink alcohol. That is an enormous difference.

Happy holy week.
