Olavo de Carvalho´s Article : President Lula - Guilty by Confession

I´ve just received this. It is an English translation of one of the most important articles from Brazilian philosopher Olavo de Carvalho, that explains the Lula da Silva´s hidden (it is really hidden? ) agenda.
Roxane, Olavo´s lovely wife has brought me this.
Thank you.

President Lula, Guilty by  Confession

Olavo de Carvalho

Diário do  Comércio (São  Paulo, Brazil), September 26th, 2005

Translated by David Carvalho and Donald  Hank

I should be grateful to Mr. President Lula. When  practically all the national media makes an effort to cover up the activities of  the Sao Paulo Forum or even to deny its existence, labeling as a "madman" or  "fanatic" anyone who denounces them, cometh the very founder of the entity and  does the job, proving by his own words the most depressing suspicions and some  even worse.

The presidential speech on July 2, 2005, stated in the  fifteen year anniversary of the Forum and reproduced in the government's  official site, http://www.info.planalto.gov.br/download/discursos/pr812a.doc,  is the explicit confession of a conspiracy against the national sovereignty, an  infinitely more serious crime than all crimes of corruption perpetrated and  covered up by the current government; a crime that, by itself, would justify not  only impeachment but also the imprisonment of its  perpetrator.

At the distance at which I find myself, I have only now  become fully aware of this unique document, and yet the editors-in-chief of the  major newspapers and of all the radio and TV news broadcasts in  Brazil were there the whole time.  Being aware of the speech since the date it was made, they still remained  silent, proving that their persistent hiding of the facts was not the result of  distraction or pure incompetence: it was subservient, Machiavellian complicity  with a crime, of which they expected to enjoy profits  unknown.

The meaning of these paragraphs, once unearthed from the  verbal garbage that wraps it, is crystal clear:

"As a function of the existence of the Sao Paulo Forum,  comrade Marco Aurelio has played an extraordinary role in this effort to  consolidate what we started in 1990... This was how we, in January 2003,  proposed to our comrade, president Chavez, the creation of the Group of Friends  to find a peaceful solution that, thank God, took place in Venezuela. And it was  only possible thanks to a political action between comrades. It was not a  political action of either a State with another State, or either one president  with another president. Some will remember, Chavez attended one of the forums we  held in Havana.  And thanks to this relationship it was possible for us to build, with many  political divergences, the consolidation of what took place in  Venezuela, with the  referendum that installed Chavez as president of Venezuela.

"In this way we could act, together with other countries,  with our comrades of the social movement, of those countries' parties, of the  union movement, always using the relationship built in the Sao Paulo Forum so  that we could talk without appearing to do so, and so that people would not  understand any political interference taking  place."

What the President admits in these excerpts is  that:

1. The Sao  Paulo Forum is a secret or at least undercover entity  ("built... so that we could talk without seeming so, and so that people would  not understand any political interference taking  place").

2. This entity is actively involved in the internal  politics of many Latin-American nations, making decisions and determining the  course of events, at the margins of all supervision by government, parliaments,  justice and public opinion.

3. The so called "Group of Friends of Venezuela" was but  an arm, agency or facade of the Sao Paulo Forum ("as a function of the existence  of the Forum... we proposed to our comrade president  Chavez."..).

4. After being elected in 2002, he, Luis Inacio Lula da  Silva, while having abandoned pro forma his position as president of the  Sao Paulo Forum, giving the impression that he was free to rule Brazil without  commitments with ill-explained foreign alliances, kept working underground for  the Forum, helping, for instance, to produce the results of the Venezuelan  referendum of August 15, 2004 ("thanks to this relationship it was possible for  us to provide the consolidation of what took place in Venezuela"), without  giving his voters the slightest satisfaction for  this.

5. The orientation in vital issues of Brazilian foreign  policy was decided by Mr. Lula not as President of the Republic at meetings with  his ministers, but as an attendee and advisor of underground meetings with  foreign political agents ("it was a political action between comrades, not a  political action either of one State with another, or of one president with  another"). He put loyalty to his "comrades" above his duties as a  president.

The President confesses, in short, that he subjected the  country to decisions made by foreigners, gathered in conferences of an entity  whose actions the Brazilian people would not be made privy to, much less  understand.

The active humiliation of the national sovereignty could  not be more evident, especially when one realizes that the attending entities of  these decision-making meetings include organizations such as the Chilean MIR,  kidnapper of Brazilians, and the FARC, Colombian narcoguerilla, responsible,  according to its member Fernandinho Beira-Mar, for the annual injection of two  hundred tons of cocaine into the national market.

Never before has an elected president of any civilized  country showed such complete disdain for the Constitution, the laws, the  institutions and the entire electorate, while giving all confidence, all  authority, to a conclave swarming with criminals, in tracing the nation's  destiny and its relations with its neighbors behind the people's backs. Never  before in Brazil was there such a brazen,  complete and cynical traitor as Luis Inacio Lula da  Silva.

The greatest proof that he consciously eluded the opinion  of the public, keeping them ignorant of the operations of the Sao Paulo Forum,  is that, as the elections approached, fearing my constant denunciation of this  entity, he told his "advisor for international affairs," Giancarlo Summa, to  placate the newspapers by means of an official note from the Workers Party  stating that the Forum was just an innocent debating club, devoid of any  political action (see http://www.olavodecarvalho.org/semana/10192002globo.htm   and http://www.olavodecarvalho.org/semana/10192002globo.htm).

And now he boasts of the "political action of comrades,"  performed with resources from the Brazilian government and hidden from Congress,  justice and public opinion.

Compared to such an immense crime, what importance can  the Mensalão and the like phenomena have (v. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mensal%C3%A3o_scandal), but as a means of financing operations that are only  part of the overall strategy of transferring national sovereignty to the secret  authority of foreigners?

Can there be greater disproportion than between ordinary  cases of corruption and this supreme crime for which they served as  instruments?

The answer is obvious. But why then did many readily  denounce the means while agreeing to keep covering up the  ends?

Here the answer is less obvious. It requires presorting.  The denouncers are divided in two types: (A) individuals and groups committed to  the Sao Paulo Forum's scheme, but not directly involved in the use of these  illicit means in particular; (B) individuals and groups unrelated to both  things.

The rationale of the former is simple, to whit: off with  the rings, but keep the fingers. Once it has become impossible to keep hiding  the use of illicit instruments, they agree to throw their most notorious  operators under the bus, in order to keep perpetrating the same crime by other  means and agents. The content and even the style of the charges leveled by these  people reveal their nature as pure decoys. When they attribute the Workers Party  corruption, which started as early as 1990, to settlements with the IMF signed  in 2003 on, they show that their need to lie does not shrink even before plain  and simple material impossibility. When they cast the blame on some "group,"  hiding the fact that the ramifications of the criminal structure extended from  the Presidency of the Republic to the rural town halls, implicating practically  the whole party, they prove that they have as much to hide as those that were  charged at the time.

More complex are the motivations of group B. In part, it  is composed of characters devoid of fiber, physical and moral cowards, who would  rather focus on the lesser details for fear of seeing the continental dimensions  of the overall crime. There is also the subgroup of the intellectually weak, who  stake their bets on the "death of communism" nonsense and now, in order not to  contradict themselves, feel obliged, to reduce the greatest coup scam in the  history of Latin America to the more manageable dimensions of an ordinary  corruption scheme, depoliticizing the meaning of the facts and pretending that  Lula is nothing more than a  Fernando Collor  without a jet ski. There are those who, out of either opportunism or stupidity,  collaborated way too much with the rise of the criminal party to power and now  feel divided between the impulse to cleanse themselves of the stench of the bad  company they kept, and the impulse to lessen the crime to avoid the burden of  their complicity in it. There are also the pseudo-experts who aided and abetted  the enemy, blinded by the insane illusion that it is more viable to defeat him  by gnawing at him from the edges than by landing a death blow in his heart.  There are, finally, those who truly understand nothing of what's going on and,  parroting Brazilian speech patterns, just repeat what they hear, in hopes of  blending in.

I earnestly ask all the flaming anti-corruption accusers  of recent weeks – politicians, media owners, businessmen, journalists,  intellectuals, judges, and military – to examine carefully their own  consciences, if they have any left, to see in which of these subgroups they  fall. Because, aside from those few Brazilians of valor who supported in timely  fashion the charges against the Sao Paulo Forum, all the others will inevitably  fall into one of them.

It would be absurd to blame only Lula and the Sao Paulo  Forum for the Brazilian moral decay, forgetting the contribution they got from  these fair-weather moralists, as eager to denounce the parts as they are to hide  the whole picture. Nothing could have fueled national self-deceit more than this  marvelous network of complicities and omissions born of motivations that, while  varied, converge into the same result, namely, the creation of a false  impression of transparent investigations, and a facade of normality and  lawfulness even as the entire order crumbles, invisibly gnawed away from the  inside.

The destruction of order and its replacement by "a new  pattern of relationships between State and society," decided in secret meetings  with foreigners — such was Mr. Lula's confessed objective. This objective, as he  said in another part of the same speech, should be attained and consolidated "in  a manner such that it can be sustained, regardless of who is governing the  country."

What is perceived from the behavior of Mr. Lula's critics  and accusers is that, in this general objective, he has already emerged  victorious, regardless of the success or failure that he may have in the rest of  his term. The new order whose name may not be spoken is already in place, and  its authority is such that not even the president's fiercest enemies dare to  challenge it. All of them, in one way or another, have already committed  themselves at least implicitly to put the Sao Paulo Forum above the  Constitution, the laws and the institutions of Brazil. If they  complain about looting, embezzlement, vote buying and bribes, it is precisely to  avoid complaining about the transfer of national sovereignty to the continental  conference of "comrades," like Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, the Colombian  narcoguerillas and the Chilean kidnappers. It is like a rape victim protesting  the damage to her hairdo, neglecting to mention, even politely, the rape  itself.

Perhaps the deeds of Mr. Lula and his wretched Forum  would not have wrought such vast damage in Brazil as this  total inversion of proportions, complete destruction of moral judgment, and  total corruption of the public conscience. Never before has such a profound  agreement between accusers and accused been seen that would indulge the crime,  denounced with so much attention to the details, so as to succeed in the overall  objectives "without seeming to do so and so that people would not  understand."

Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling (from James DeMeo)

James DeMeo, from www.orgonelab.org analyses recent weather data gathering, revealing that the planet was in fact cooling during last twelve months.

While tons of "Gores" claim their "incovenient truth", the weather kept oling...

"The "old climatology" which I was trained in and formerly taught in the universities, embraced the observed principles of homeostatic mechanisms -- or, self-correcting mechanisms -- by which both living system and larger ecological systems would adjust to compensate for changes.  Such was the foundation for Lovelock's "Gaia" theory of "Earth as living organism".  The generation which embraced Gaia has forgotten or never knew the science behind it, however, and instead has flocked to the CO2 theory of global warming.  But that theory basically ignores homeostatic mechanisms, and hundreds of years of empirically-developed climate science.

When you get hot, your body sweats and discharges heat by the mechanism of water evaporation from the skin surface.  Likewise, a global warming could trigger a global cooling by increases in evaporation from land and oceans, with subsequent increases in clouds and precipitation.  A global cooling always has been more dangerous given the predominance of increased glaciers, massive storms, shipwrecks, shorter growing seasons, failed crops, starvation and famine during such times.  Too much rains and ice can work a damage just as too little rains and heat.  Anyone who has read a bit about the Little Ice Age knows this, and doesn't necessarily fear a moderate global warming, which also happened in the past during the Medieval Warm Period, which was mostly a time of plenty and booming economies.  But the "new climatology" speaks of "tipping points", which is like saying, when your body gets hot, you don't sweat anymore.  Or when the atmosphere heats, clouds no longer form.  That could happen with a disturbed organism, or with a stagnated dor-choked atmosphere -- but that's not what is claimed by the advocates of Industrial CO2 greenhouse theory.  Irrespective of the theory one embraces, it is axiomatic that atmospheric warming evaporates more water, and from that, more clouds and precipitation as rain and snow. Snow on the ground then reflects sunlight back into space, and in a net sense the atmosphere cools.  Ergo, last year, and this winter -- breaking all records for snows and cooling world-wide, and confounding the predictions of the warming advocates.  Natural cycle?  Driven by solar variation (we are still waiting for the next solar cycle to start -- the sun seems to have the sunspot-switch turned off!)  Driven by cloudbuster operations within and surrounding the Saharasian Desert Belt, which suppresses the desert-drought heat-wave-producing dust-dor clouds?  Who can say.  In any case, here at OBRL Greensprings Center, we had a full 5 feet of snow on the ground by mid February.  Few here are old enough to remember anything similar.  Some photos from the 1930s suggest a similar snow condition, but not since.  It was literally up to the shoulders or the eyeballs, depending upon your height.  Nobody would believe it, so we made a short photo-essay, here:
http://www.orgonelab.org/Winter2008.htm

This record snow was not merely local but was typical of many other places in the Northern Hemisphere.  The article below suggests, a dramatic global cooling is in progress.  Expect a rekindling of all the public debate.  Possibly it is a short cold transient from a larger trend of continued warming.  Or the trend could be reversing.  I suppose we will all hear the claimed rise in human-produced global CO2 is responsible for this as well, just as it was firstly blamed for Hurricane Katrina, and later blamed for the absence of the failed prediction for even more hurricanes.  If anything like the Little Ice Age developed, the UN would insist everyone return to coal burning, cross-ocean trade and travel would become a risky enterprise once again, and we would be burning all those textbooks to keep warm in the dark.

The article below is a great summary.  Go to the original to review the imbedded weblinks, which provide more info.

Saint-James from Compostela: The "Moor Slayer" and the Politically Correct

In January, I went to Santiago de Compostela (Saint James of Compostela) , in the Galiza (or Galicia) region, Spain. No, I did not go in pilgrimage, as nowadays´ fashion among the Brazilians (they are third in the pilgrims´ ranking to Santiago – blame it on Paulo Coelho, Bill Clinton´s favorite esoteric charlatan writer, who turned a faithful journey into a “must” to the neo-pagan esoteric new-age crowd). I went there using regular means of transportation and regular roads. Thanks to the low-cost entrepreneurs..

So, when I crossed the Spanish border from the north of Portugal (through the Minho river) I came across some warnings of what I would find there: the welcome billboard, that says “ Bienvenidos a España” was vandalized, so “Spain” was changed by a graffitied “Galiza”. Yes, Galiza is one of the Spain´s region that struggle for its independence But let´s go ahead.

Coming to the beautiful – but uncared – Saint James´ Cathedral I was astonished by its dimensions, its statues, the pilgrims that was coming through its seven doors, its architecture and by its history. I´ve learned that that Apostle James (Major). His name in Spanish came from the name “Yacob”, later “Jacobo” (Latin) .Other Latin variance was “Iago”. Together with “Sant” , became “Sant Iago”, finally “Santiago”. For the French is “ Saint-Jacques” and for the English, “Saint James”.

The (hi)story told us that James wandered from Jerusalem to the point known as “Finnis Terrae” (Galicia) after the death/resurrection of Jesus Christ. There he continued his work preaching the news of the Kingdom. Back in Jerusalem, years later, Mary becomes sick and feels that her death was on the way. She asked to the angels to get the apostles together in Jerusalem; She appeared to James over a pole in Saragossa (the site became famous in the Shrine of Our Lady of Pillar); James returned to Jerusalem; Mary dies; Saint James is arrested and beheaded by Herodes circa 44 DC.; His followers moved his body back to Galicia, through the Mediterranean Sea, where he was buried; Many years later his body and the vault is found; The Cathedral is built; The pilgrimage started, specially from France, so the most famous of the “Way of Saint James” was created. But there are other ways, even here in Portugal.

But there´s a special chapter in Saint James´ history: the transformation of Saint James into the Santiago “Matamoros” (“Moor Slayer”).

During the Muslim invasion of the South of Spain, Saint James appeared to the King of Castela, guiding him to freed Spain from the Muslims invaders. His appearances kept the Spanish morale´s high and they kept winning. Sometime later, James “Moor Slayer”, became the symbol of the “Reconquista” and the new Spanish unity.

So, I was there inside the Church when I saw the famous statue of the “Matamoros”, but there were no Muslims there. They were covered by flowers. Back in the hotel, I could see the original statue on a postcard. Could Santiago have became a victim of the “politically correct” syndrome?

But I found much more than this.

By the newspapers, you can have a larger view of what is going on. The warrior apostle, the Moor Slayer, is not only inconvenient by being openly an anti-Islamic symbol and thus susceptible to “hurt other´s religion feelings” - according to the declaration of the committee in charge of the Cathedral´s administration. He is inconvenient because he is the Spain Patron, a thing that nationalists from all regions disgust.

The Andalusian nationalists, allied to the Galician, claim for the withdrawal of Saint-James´ spade providing that the “Moor Slayer” profile of Saint-James to be forgotten.

This vision is not modern. There´s been a long time that Catalan, Gallegos, Andalusian and – mainly – the Basque, claim for their independence from Spain and to destitute the “Moor Slayer” as their Patron is their goal. They are a kind of “Renconqista” revisionist, cause for them, there was nothing “nothing to be reconquered”.

In this way, it is clear why Basque terrorist group ETA join their efforts with Al-Qaeda: they are in the same fight, cause the victory for nationalists only could be made if Catholicism and its symbol, Saint-James, could be weakened. It is difficult to understand why many people, even inside of Catholic Church in Spain - specially the so-called “progressives” - fell into this trap.

But fortunately they did not win, at least partially. Some years ago, rumors said that the Moor Slayer image will be withdraw from the Cathedral After a chain of protests, debates, they reached a Salomonic choice: they did not withdraw the image, but hid Muslim figures behind the flowers. You can see the images above. The Politically Correct attack against the Apostle, added by the inflation of a new-pagan-esoteric frenzy on the “Ways of Saint James” - that praises the path, not its real meaning – wants to change a Christian and Spanish symbol to its opposite.

Forget Paulo Coelho´s “ Pilgrimage”. It´s the old “Moor Slayer” that we need.

The weakened American soul - by Olavo de Carvalho

A (rare) translated article from Olavo. Thanks to Donald Hank and Don Laigles

Read here or below.

"Olavo de Carvalho is a respected journalist with a wide following in his native Brazil and an increasingly popular public speaker in this country. Mr. Carvalho provided Laigle's Forum readers with an eye-opening article on the CFR and the Forum of Sao Paolo back on May 27, 2006.

Laigle's Forum is the first to present the following article to the English speaking world."

The weakened American soul

By Olavo de Carvalho

From Diario de Comercio, Jan 14, 2008

The dominant discourse in the mainstream media, show business and universities in the USA today is so frankly anti-American that it is only in details of style - if that - that it can be distinguished from the defamation campaigns undertaken by the USSR in the 50s and 60s. The American elite boasts of having won the Cold War, but it seems as if it was dominated psychologically by the vanquished enemy and wound up believing everything the enemy said against it. The posthumous vengeance of the Soviets gleams in the pages of the New York Times, at prime time on CBS, and in the films by Michael Moore and George Clooney with a splendor that not even Willi Muenzenberg, the genius of communist disinformation, would have dared dream of.

Whatever is said against the American government, against the American military, and against American culture, seems to enjoy automatic credibility today, so much so that it can be shouted from the rooftops without the least fear of an exasperated response, to the extent that any pro-American word must be prefaced with politically correct precautions for fear of the inevitable and vociferous retaliation, if not of a lawsuit. To follow the American debate is to confirm daily the prophetic sense of the verse by William Butler Yeats: "the best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity." Something has changed radically in the heart of America in the second half of the 20th century, and has changed precisely in the direction in which the country's bitterest enemies would have wanted it to change.

How was this possible? The agents of change want us to believe that it was all a spontaneous, natural and inevitable process, lending the course of the transformation the authority of an impersonal historic law that only the small minded reactionary would dare to question. But many years ago I realized that impersonal laws of history are almost always mere camouflage for human actions that want to pass unperceived so that their effects take on an aura of divine mystery.

The change that weakened the American soul was precipitated by three major disinformation operations that, because they were launched from Washington and not from Moscow, managed to deceive the entire nation and forge a new "common sense" (in the Gramscian sense of the word), whose influence not even the most conservative and patriotic completely escape. On these three occasions, the lies carefully elaborated by the government itself to cast onto the United States the blame for the malicious actions of its enemies not only became official truth, uniformly repeated today by the media and the education system, but spread around the world, creating the monstrously deformed image that today feeds and legitimizes anti-American hatred everywhere. It may seem absurd that government officials would choose to participate in the defamation of their own country to avoid problems with the USSR or to save their own electoral image, but that is exactly what three American presidents did, two of which, ironically, are portrayed by leftist rhetoric as exemplary embodiments of anti-communism and "Yankee imperialism."

The three operations were conceived in the high spheres of the Democratic Party, but at least one of them had intense Republican collaboration. Three recently published books, one of which I already commented on here and the other I mentioned in passing, finally reveal what happened behind the scenes on these occasions, the incredible machinations of politicians and journalists, who for the sake of short-term gains, unhesitatingly favored the enemy and bequeathed to future generations an increasingly morally weakened country.

The first of these episodes was the operation carried out by the Truman administration — and faithfully pursued by Eisenhower — to deny or cover up the massive presence of Soviet agents in high posts of the American government, particularly in the State Department, and also in technical and administrative functions, where they had access to secret information of a military nature.

This story is told in detail with extensive documentation by M. Stanton Evans in "Black Listed by History. The Untold Story of Senator Joseph MacCarthy and His Fight against America's Enemies," New York, Crown forum 2007. If you can't read the book, you can listen to a good resume presented by the author at the Heritage Foundation, with a commentary by Herbert Rommerstein, the one personally responsible for major investigations into Soviet infiltration in the USA (see Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy).

To get an idea of the strategic risks involved in this situation, suffice to say that practically the entire tone of North American policy in China during the communist revolution was set on the basis of reports fabricated by Soviet agents who infiltrated the American diplomatic service in Beijing. By means of prodigious falsifications, these agents managed to persuade the Washington government to withhold needed aid from their ally Chiang Kai-shek and support the communist troops of Mao Zedong, who without this would never have managed to overthrow the Chinese government and install the bloodiest of genocidal dictatorships the world had ever known. American Ambassador Patrick Hurley saw through the ruse and warned Washington in time, but his messages were ignored. Feeling sullied, Hurley asked to be relieved of his post and was replaced by General George Marshall, who believed in these stories as if they had been revealed gospel. Marshall was not procommunist, obviously, but if his behavior in this case was not a clear-cut example of what Eric Voegelin called "criminal stupidity," I don't know what could fit that category. Following the record genocide of 70 million people, the Chinese government, having accumulated atomic bombs with the money generously supplied by American investors, is today the number one security risk for the USA.

Alerted to these and other innumerable cases of Soviet infiltration, the Truman administration opted to kill the messenger, and did everything it could to give the impression that the only serious danger for America was anti-communism, particularly that of Senator Joe McCarthy, whose demonized image still remains vivid in world memory. To obtain this result, Harry Truman's shock troops unhesitatingly covered up the essential documents, which, revealed only now, show that, in essence, all the accusations made by McCarthy were true and even modest in comparison to the real dimensions of the problem. Besides suppressing evidence and protecting itself behind false testimonies, the Truman administration, instead of dismissing the suspects, preferred to support their careers, enabling them to rise in the hierarchy and continue offering services to the Soviet dictatorship with American taxpayer money.

An entire culture of anti-McCarthyism, supported by textbooks, cinema and journalism, grew out of this enterprise of intentional falsification. The consequences of this extend to the present day, making Americans, repenting of sins they never committed against communists, sense greater fear of a possible "return to the McCarthy era" than of a joint assault of Chinese generals and Islamic radicals.

I see the second episode of the series when Lee Harvey Oswald killed President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Not only the White House but also the CIA and the FBI knew that Oswald was a fanatical communist and that his intention in shooting Kennedy was to frustrate any American initiative against Fidel Castro's dictatorship. Chilled at the prospects of a national outbreak of anti-Communist revolt targeting the Democratic Party and reviving suspicions of the Harry Truman era, President Lyndon Johnson did what he could to turn the attention of the Warren Commission away from this sensitive point, explaining Oswald's crime not as the result of his ideological convictions but of generic motivations such as emotional instability, family problems, etc. As unbelievable as it seems, the commission agreed to analyze the most famous political homicide of the 20th century without mentioning politics. Coming to the president's aid, the chic media and enlightened intellectuals then produced a copious literature of pseudo-sociological claims that placed the blame for the crime on the "American culture of violence" and other vapid generalities which, in their final conclusion, were laid to the charge of conservatives. The anti-American discourse of the new left, which was then starting to gain prominence, thus received powerful backing from the very government of Washington at which it directed its hysterical eloquence. This discourse wound up incorporating itself in "common sense," to the point that today it is routinely repeated by the mainstream media without anyone noticing anything out of place. The book that described this enormous psychological mutation that was born in the highest spheres in Washington and spread throughout the American culture is Camelot and the Cultural Revolution. How the Assassination of John F. Kennedy Shattered American liberalism, by James Pierson (New York, Encounter Books, 2007).

The biggest irony in all of this is that Lee Oswald, a convert to communism since adolescence, could in no way be considered representative of the reactionary trends supposedly responsible for the "American violence" that would have prompted him to homicide, much less the fanatical Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan, who in 1968, assassinated the ex-president's brother, Robert Kennedy. It is not by coincidence that we now know Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority was from head to toe a brainchild of the KGB (http://www.weizmann.ac.il/home/comartin/israel/pacepa-wsj.html), but at the time, this tireless myth factory of the leftist elite was able to make two crimes committed by procommunist agents against two notoriously anti-Communist politicians appear to be the handiwork of the "reactionary right," and to have this rigorously inverted version of reality embed itself in the American psyche so deeply that it would take many decades to uproot it, if indeed it were at all possible.

The third big lie, also definitively incorporated in the rituals of America's pseudo-moralistic masochism was also the work of Lyndon Johnson. After having hampered the action of American troops in Vietnam by all possible means, Johnson drew the logical conclusion from his own strategy, transfiguring the victory into a defeat. On January 31, 1968, the North Vietnamese army of Ho Chi Minh launched a major offensive against the Americans and South Vietnamese. The idea was to occupy all at once the cities of South Vietnam, starting with the capital, Saigon, instigating a general uprising with the help of Vietcong fighters. Militarily, the offensive was a monumental failure. The Communists lost, in a few days, 50,000 soldiers and all the objectives that they had conquered. Even the famous attack on the American embassy in Saigon was a failure. Not a single Vietcong was able to enter the building — they all died at the gate. Meanwhile, since the American army followed the standard procedure for such occasions, quickly evacuating the civil servants by means of helicopters on the embassy rooftop, the images of the evacuation were shown on American TV as evidence of general panic and a sure sign of the imminent defeat of South Vietnam. When President Johnson saw these scenes being interpreted this way by veteran TV news commentator Walter Cronkite, he reasoned "if I've lost Cronkite I've lost the nation." The North Vietnamese commander, General Giap, showed how right that was when he admitted that his main weapon against South Vietnam was the American media. By endorsing the legend of the American defeat, Johnson brought down on his country a humiliation that the elegant media and prattling intellectuals have been celebrating incessantly since then as a just punishment meted out to the reactionary, fanatical and violent people who persecuted innocents in the MacCarthy era and assassinated two Kennedys…

Only now, with the first volume of the book consecrated to the Vietnam War by historian Mark Moyar is the reality of the victory artificially disguised as a defeat beginning to appear. Read 'Triumph Forsaken. The Vietnam War 1954-1964? (Cambridge University press, 2006).

No other country in the world has had as many traitors per square mile as the USA. All of the anti-American mythology circulating in the world originated in Washington and New York — with nothing more than initial light shoves him from the KGB. The fact that the USA managed to survive such devastating lies hurled against the country by its own government officials and its most renowned intellectual leaders is something that can be explained only by the residual persistence of the people's fondness for American traditions. It is true that we Brazilians need not come to North America to learn about a good people governed by swindlers. But the nagging question in my mind is whether these swindlers in Brazil would have risen as high as they did without the aid of the swindlers in Washington.

Huckabee: Another "Faux" (or better: a Subliminal) Christian ?

Republican pre-candidate , after a surprising surge last weeks, seems to be shrinking to his avarage size.

When I started to know a little about Huckabee, I was amazed by his feelings towards family values.
But it made me feel odd on his views on the State. He seems to be a "Do-Gooder" , from the right, but a Do-Gooder.

It is very difficult to choose among the actual Republican candidates. I really like Ron Paul´s on economy, but his views on Foreign Affairs and moral values could be described as a dream-come-true for many leftist.

Now Huckabee. Below you can find an excerpt of an acid opinion from Ann Coulter on him.
The most hilarious at all, is that Huckabee has a lot of weak points to be critcized by Republicans, but what arose from public debate this week was his TV ad. Many found "subliminal propaganda" behind Huckabee´s Christmas ad. Just because he seemed to be in front of a cross. My God. Huckabee is christian and believes in Jesus. So what? What could be more direct than a good old "Merry Christmas"?? He could be blamed for many things (as Ann´s points it out) but this accusation is silly.

I, for my part, am still on the search for the  - at least - a  less-worst Republican candidate for 2008. The race will be very, very difficult. Even if Republicans could win, I don´t know if there´s a reason to celebrate...
Happy Xmas...

As far as I can tell, it's mostly secular liberals swooning over Huckabee. Liberals adore Huckabee because he fits their image of what an evangelical should be: stupid and easily led.

Christmas Message 2007

Here´s a Xmas Message that I am very pleased to share all of you.
It is from my friend Olavo de Carvalho and  contain wisdom in its more profound sense. Enjoy it!

Christmas  Message 2007

Olavo de Carvalho

"When  questioned about the date of the end of the world, Jesus Christ said it was a  well guarded secret that God the Father kept to Himself (Mt. 24:36). This answer  carries with itself two unescapable logical  implications:

First, Christ is the Divine Logos, the Divine Reason, that is, the living  eternal system of all the laws that govern the cosmos and every possible  reality. If the knowledge concerning the time for the end of the world belongs  properly to the Father and not to the Son as such, this means that the arrival  of the end will not be determined by any previous law, but by a pure Act of  Will, an expression of the Divine Freedom and not properly of the Divine  Reason.

Second, if the time for the end is an unsearchable mistery, the  culmination or final purpose of the human historical process is also unknowable,  for any state of progress or decay that can have been attained at a precise date  can be changed by further unforeseen developments the next day or minute. An  eternal decision by God the Father Himself makes that human History is an open  process, not limited by any predetermined ends, not destined to reach any  predefined state of perfection.

For five or six centuries now, however, many men have been trying to  persuade mankind that they not only can foresee very clearly that state of  perfection, but know the precise social, cultural, political and historical  roads that should be travelled in order to attain  it.

This is what I call "the revolutionary mind". If the historical results  of its coming to the world took the form of mass killings, tyrannical  governments and undescribable misery and pain, it was not because the  revolutionary mind was betrayed by its own representatives or committed some  little mistakes underway to its promised earthly paradise. It was because the  revolutionary mind presumes to be wiser than Christ Himself. And whoever  presumes to be wiser than Christ refuses also the Holy Spirit. The revolutionary  mind is the sin against the Holy Spirit, a sin that will not be forgiven during  this life or in the hereafter.

One should never believe that following the destruction of such or such  revolutionary regime the revolutionary mind was forever expelled from human  history. Under thousands of new disguises, many of which very subtle and hard to  recognize, it reappears again and again in our hearts and minds, for it is the  specifically modern version of the great temptation.

Today, as we prepare ourselves to contemplate once more the Divine Child  in His humble craddle, please remember: He is the source and the limit of our  knowledge. He is the measure, the ruler and the scale. He is the Alpha and the  Omega. Beyond these limits, there is only the unsearchable mistery of Divine  Freedom."

U.S. General Says Iraq Violence at Lowest Levels Since 2004

It seems that Iraq finally is turning into a little island of democracy surrounded by an ocean of Islamo-Fascist sates.

Is a little odd that while Iraq seems becoming better, Pakhistan is getting worse...

I´ve read that the coalition guidelines to the region were : to let Iraq to U.S. and U.K. and Pakhistan to U.N. I think people at U.N. just wanted to keep out from Iraqi chaos and terror and preferred the Talibans (afterall their forces  were severe damaged by the  2001-2002 attacks). Hence, the fight against Talibans would seem easier (it was a question of maintain the ground gained) than Iraq (insurrection?).

But, four years later, the situation seems worsened for Pakhistan.

It proved two points: Yes, the U.S guidelines for Iraq were wrong in operational level. Yes, U.S. needed to put MORE men in Iraq (despite all the cry from the left). The much "total failure" of Iraq was turned aside in 2006.

I don´t think Iraq is still an issue for 2008 election. Not for democrats.

Final thought: Althought many Portuguese casualities have been reported in Pakhistan, I do not share the feeling that this war is wrong. What is not right is not the war, but the operational direction of it. It was clear in Iraq. United Nations are not skilled to that. Whenever U.N. is involved, you can expect failure.

Brazilians are suffers the same sort of casualities in Haiti (where Brazilians troops are located to try to impose some order in that country), under the U.N. wings. The overall picture is wrong. That´s the point: In Pakhistan or in Haiti - U.N. policies are failed.

BAGHDAD — Violence in Iraq is at its lowest levels since the first year of the American invasion, finally opening a window for reconciliation among rival sects, the second-ranking U.S. general said Sunday as Iraqi forces formally took control of security across half the country.

Updates on Latin America, Portugal...

I do not have much time to keep up with the facts, so I doing this big chunk o small perceptions, news on Brazil-Portugal affairs and Latin America.

Venezuela

Th big fact of these past weeks was Venezuelan referendum on new Bolivarian (sic) Venezuelan Constitution. Every dictator has to claim its "rights" to do whatever they do. The best way is  - if you´re regime is far from the Constitution - is to change the Constitution.
Chávez is treating "Constitution" - a Nation Statement on Her Intentions and Values - just like an ISO 9001 process to the industry. Let me explain. In industry, ISO processes in its first level is just a confirmation of the business processes practices already on the run. That is exactly what Chávez intented. His Constitution was an affirmation of the practices already carried out by the Venezuelan government.

It was rejected by the approval of Chávez. It is has to be clear for all. Some Venezuelan friends told me story: Former Chávez supporter Gen. Baduel reunited with Chávez warning that, if the election was to be faked again, the Army would not try to stop people´s manifestation on the streets. Chávez must recon the defeeat out and loud.

But he will try again...

Venezuela - Portugal

While Chávez is received as a "hero" by the far left (to the sound of leftist deceased singer "José Afonso", the lyricist that rocked the Carnation Revolution in 1974) and even by the Portuguese Prime Minister (José Socrates) , many Portuguese people are being kidnapped and even murdered in Venezuela. It is unexplainable. Chávez regime is supported by many revolutionary and criminal organizations like FARC, Hezbollah  and Cuban regime - that sent hundreds of agents to spy over the country) and it is unthinkable that these organized crimes could be done without his permission.

Brazil

More on the "unstoppable march of Brazil to the Revolution":
a) Now, by an aberrant interpretation of the Constitution (abherrant enough for itself)  any  African-Brazilian t that claimed  to be descendent of slave fugitive communities (called "Quilombo") can declare the owner of the land formely occupied by them. No matter where is located the area. There´s no need  a formal recognition research or approval to such claims. The fact that is just a  i-llegally form of  withdrawing property from people.

b) There´s a new law proposal that impose a "national" reserve on cable tv: By this new law, Cable tv stations are obligated to broadcast 50% of national programs. I wondered, if the national programs were good enough there´s no need to people buy cable tv plans.

c) Lula´s defeat: The provisory "contribution" (a new name for robbery) created more than a decade before - that steals 0,38% of every bank transfer made in Brazil - was terminated in a surprisal Chamber Session, last wednesday. It was like the referendum defeat for Chávez. A brief relief to the Brazilian Tax Inferno. But Lula will try again.. Don´t dream about it.

Perestroika Deception

The Cold War was not won by the West. Instead it was a multi-decade long deception strategy from Russian KGB to deceive the West and to defeat U.S. and their allies and to implement a totalitarian-like world government.
This is the overall thesis from the works of Anatoliy Golitsyn, the most important defector from KGB that escaped to US in 1961. He published two books where he explained in details the strategy and even made some "predictions" for the future of URSS and the Iron Curtain. The first one was called "New Lies For Old" and it was published in 1984. The second "Perestroika Deception" came in 1995.
His predictions were independently evaluated as been accurate by the rate of 99% 8in the nineties). He predicted the Fall of Berlin Wall, the coming of Mikhail Gorbachev into power and his policies "Glasnost" and "Perestroika".
Forget all you have been swallowing as "history". Democracy under the Iron Curtain was staged by KGB to work in the shadows.

Here I present two interviews (in two part each) from the English publisher Christopher Story, publisher of "Perestroika Deception" and other books like "Red Cocaine". William Macilhany interviewed Story in 1995 and 2003 on the subject of this deception strategy.
See below.

Is Candidate Ron Paul a Leftist Proxy?

Senator Ron Paul has achieving a huge succesful campaign over the internet and the young.

He says things that sound balanced, even odd like to abolish the IRS (yes!) and to return to the gold standard as currency anchor. He is also a "fundamentalist" on the Founding Father´s views.

But he fails terribly on the security issues. He seemed to be over-fed by leftist mantras that say that all the evil that U.S. is proving now is the result of their bad moves on foreign affairs. He even said that US "invaded" so many countries and these invasions created anti-Americanism.

I think Mr. Paul never read authors like Jean-François Revel that explained in books like "The Anti-American Obsession" how it grew inside Europe, specially in France. It is not US fault!

By the coservative side, despite Mr. Paul personal condemnation to abortion and gay marriage, he acts like "a dream come true" as a perfect "conservative" to the radical-left: he is just an AWOL in these questions arguing that these are not questions to be managed by central government, but the local. While leftist always push issues and even distort Constitution emendments to their own advantage, they will be very happy to see a conservative that would alllow them to proceed to destroy America.

It is pittyful that many people has jumped in his badwagon. I myself got suprised by his campaign agenda and initially agreed with his points - in a strictly constitutional terms - but I realized that his views (on National Security, mainly) are so full of naivité that go beyond all reasonable and pragmatical terms. That´s why many conservative bloggers called him a faked conservative.

Be alarmed, among the Republican candidates there are many others faked conservatives.

Here´s Ron Paul being interviewed by Bill O´Reilly.

In Russia, Software Piracy Crackdown = Abolition of Free Press

In slashdot, an interest article on Russia and Piracy.

"According to a report recently filed by the Washington Post, the Kremlin has finally begun to crackdown on software piracy ... with a twist. The Russian state agency is targetting political enemies with claims of piracy, including independent news media, political parties, and private advocacy groups. In particular, 'the newspaper Novaya Gazeta, one of the last outposts of critical journalism in Russia, suspended publication of its regional edition in the southern city of Samara on Monday after prosecutors opened a criminal case against its editor, alleging that his publication used unlicensed software.'"

This doesn't even take into account our recent discussion of the Kremlin's grip on internet access in that country.

Anatolyi Golitsyn was absolute correct in his books ("New Lies for Old", "Perestroika Deception"), Russian Democracy is fake.

U.S. Allied = "Bush´s Lap Dog" ? The Europe-US Alliance

Leftists are so full of hate that they can´t differentiate Bush from

their own country. Anyone that not blames automatically U.S. for all

the evil in the world, is a Bush´s "Lap Dog".
Now it is Sarkozy turn.

But Sarkozy

is not a "lap dog". Nor even all presidents from countries that used to

live under the Iron Curtain after the Second World War. People in

Poland, Albania, Czech Republic knew what it was to live under the

"humanistic" communist rule.

Sarkozy

knows that your country , and all Europe as well , is in debt with US. More than

hundred of thousands Americans are buried in French soil. France and Europe

freedom was reconstructed under American blood. The very "freedom" (and money from "Marshall Plan" too) to choose whatever they wanted to be. Even to choose to

turn away from their liberator and embrace the ranks of communism whit "human face" (a.k.a.: Social Democracy).

The

more leftist labeled anyone that break the ice towards George Bush as

as "lap dog", the more clearer they act as real "lap dogs" of

communist-totalitarian tyrants around the world.

The American-European connection is broke. And I see it as a irreversible.

The work was done during the last 40 years by the communist world,

using communist proxies (useful idiots or disinformation agents) like

unions, social-democrat parties, leftists reporters and newspapers. The

bonds between Europe and US became more and more loosen until it broke

by the time of the invasion of Iraq. French President Chirac

played a major role in this play. While his country was one of the

biggest Saddam´s weaponry supplier, he blamed Bush for the invasion. It

was a matter of business, of course.

The process of using useful

idiots and agents in Western Europe to break the alliance between US

and Europe was described in details by Anatolyi Golitsyn

in his book "New Lies For Old". He said that the long term plan of

deception by the communist had some main goals before to strike the

main enemy in the back: One of them is to isolate US before the World

community. It only could be done with the help of a socialist Europe.

And some "non aligned" (red proxies) , not to mention the UN itself.

The work is done. Sarkozy is only a exception that confirms the rule. That´s why he must be blamed. There won´t be others to follow Sarko´s footprints.

The French connection

Nicolas Sarkozy's cheery U.S. visit has the press howling that he's Bush's new lap dog -- maybe even if it comes to hitting Iran.

The Actual Status of “The Revolution”

You say you want a revolution / Well, you know / We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution / Well, you know /We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction / Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right / all right, all right” (Lennon-McCartney)

The very concept of the “revolution” is something that one – if studies it profoundly – could find its roots on the Modern Age, during the cycle of “ Discoveries”. Until that time, there was no other civilization to compare to the Europe, so the life of the Europeans was what it was. Then the Spaniards (and Portuguese) gave birth to America.

The shocking discovery of a New Continent and a New Civilization grew within the imagination of many thinkers that begun to describe many scenarios “ what if ?”. “What if “ Europe could put the greed and anger aside and live as the Indians – supposed to live - in America? They believe the peoples in the New World were perfect, happy, live in harmony in a community shared by all. How could Europe follow these steps. No it was not Rousseau that created the myth of the “good savage”. It was created by the wrong presumptions of the first Europeans in America.

Thomas Moore wrote his “Utopia” based on these presumptions. And created a path of thinking that culminated in Karl Marx (Please read “From Dawn to Decadence” by Jacques Barzun, to get full details).

So, it is not wrong to say that “revolutionary” concept emerged with the New World.

Now we are facing the return of the revolution to its home. America, specially the Latin America is now almost dominated by revolutionary leaders. Foro de Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo Forum) is the name of almighty entity (a new comintern, in fact) that rules from Horn Cape almost to the banks of Rio Grande. But it infected the other side too, right into the US.

What I can report is some of my impressions from my last trips to Latin America.

In Argentina, I could face how the mythology surrounding a murder as Che Guevara has turned him into a kind of new Messiah. I even could not use my favorite shirt, where Che appears in his classic pose- but whit Mickey Mouse ears - because I could offend or even get some of Che´s teen-lovers mad at me. With unpredictable consequences. With a president race won by Cristina Kirchner, Néstor Kirchner´s wife, it is clear that Argentina will safely kept in red hands. The penguin couple will profess their accordance with the goals defined by the communist board in Latin America.

One of the Penguin´s last move was a speech at UN where he firmly ask some cooperation from Iran on the investigation of the AMIA terrorist attack in 1994. Don´t get fooled.. It was a divert move. He ask for cooperation when he was supposed to declare Iran as a terrorist state. The people involved in AMIA attacks were people from the government (see here details).

In Brazil, the revolution is going on. It is a multi-faced process that is based upon three legs:

  1. Violence produced by the action of drug-dealers (fight for the drug market monopoly)- represented by the entry of FARC proxies into the Brazilian market blessed by the FSP and Lula da Silva and the violence created by drug users in their “pursue of happiness”. The violence is spread in all country even in areas known in the past as peaceful.

  2. The Gramscian revolution, designed to create a struggle between “ progressives” and “conservatives” to implement free abortion “ rights” to women, gay rights, Indian rights, affirmative actions, where the result is to collapse the society as we know it. The agrarian revolution led by Landless Movement is in fast pace to to turn out this “peaceful” movement into a real guerrilla. Last movements were designed to take control over main roads and areas in the south of Brazil to block it from be used by the farmers to sell their products in local and foreign markets thus leading them to bankruptcy.

  3. The tax persecution: Brazil created an Orwellian structure of financial information that allows the government to copy and log all bank accounts movements every minute. Federal Police uses these informations to arrest who they want. The fiscal and tax laws were so complicated that couldn´t be thought for any other purpose let alone to define “capitalism” as an outlaw activity. Last week many directors from American based company Cisco were arrested for the allegedly crimes such fiscal evasion and fraud. The proofs were obtained by spying illegally phone calls and private e-mails from the company. What in other countries is used to track terrorists, in Brazil is used to track dangerous capitalists for the crime of selling products like routers and other equipment at a lower price.

In Venezuela, it seems that finally “democracy” is just a word. A word so alienated from reality like “virtual reality” or “science fiction”. Even so, s tudents fought in the streets facing tear gases to show their discontent.

The “Revolution” finally has make a final turn in Latin America and it seems that is firmly headed to turn the New World into a new Africa. US is still fighting but like Bible´s Deluge it is a sign that lower areas are flooded before but higher ones will submerge too. It is only a question of time. No one is safe from the Revolutionary Process (?).

Guevara is Dead Again: Monument Destroyed in Venezuela

Che Guevara is Dead. But it seems irrelevant to all useful idiots that insist in wearing Guevara shirts around the world.
From Madonna to Maradona (?!!) there are a bunch of brainless socialist that love to praise a murderer.

This year is the fortieth anniversary of Che´s death.

As a homage to the "butcher" here some real news on the theme..

Che´s monument in Venezuela (Mérida) was vandalized and destroyed by a group called "Frente Patriótica de Paramo" that wrote this note:
"We Do Not Want Any Monument for Che, he is not an example to our children:
Industry Minister (and finished the Cuban industry)
Chancelor (and isolated Cuba from the rest of the world)
Cuba´s Bank Director (and broke the island)
A cold blooded murderer
Then, if Jorge Rodriguez (vice-president) and Chavez want their children to look alike Che, our no. In El Páramo NO.
"If you want to build a monument, that must be for J.F. Sánchez (teacher), an example of humility, love and wisdom. This one, put on Sabaneta" (Chavez´ hometown)

Trip Report: Cordoba, Argentina

Trip Report: Córdoba, Argentina

I´ve spend two last weeks working in Córdoba, Argentina. It was my second time there.

My first impressions: forget all you used to know about Argentina and the Argentinians. Why?

In Cordoba the spanish (in fact "castellano") has little relation to the strong and almost not understandble Buenos Aires´accent (also known as "porteño", that consists in spelling "y" and "ll" as "ch") . "Cordobes" is understandble. I am about to say that for a southerner Brazilian like me, it is more understandble than European Portuguese!

Forget the "porteña" arrogance too: Cordobean people are nice and unbelievably good hosts.

If you are male, you´ll notice another local richness: female beauty. Córdoba is a city of beautiful women.

Food: you can eat well and cheap (speciallity: lots of cow meat -“parrillada” - & italian cuisine).

The city never sleeps: by the fact that Cordoba has a huge college popullation (12% of the popullation) there are neighborhoods where the animation is non-stop. "Nueva Córdoba" is one of these "barrios" where you can find supermarkets opened 24 hours, laundry shops and, of course noisy bars, dance clubs and cafés all night long.

Archithecture: there are lot of churches, museums and even a Jesuitic site from 16th century preserved.

But there is the dark side.

Córdoba was the city where Che Guevara lived many years (he was born in Rosario) It is known that Che broke off with a beautiful and rich local heiress girl to run across the Latin America on a motorcylce. The house that Guevare lived was turned into a museum dedicated to him. In Córdoba Che is an absolute idol, where his fanatical lovers seem to know nothing about the murderer of the Caribbean.

Signs of abandon: although her beautifil architecture, Córdoba suffers from public adandon. The city deserve to be better treated by her mayors. It is dirty with deteriorated streets and sidewalks.

The last bad news is that it seems that Cristina Kirchner, Nestor ("The Penguin") Krichner´s wife will be the next Evita, ooops, President of Argentina. It is clear that if it is so, Foro de São Paulo will keep its power in Argentina...
